It’s summer, which is an “in-between” time in the Sarco series release timeline. Edge of Oblivion is nearly two months old, and the next installment in the storyline, The Shadows of Aeroel, is still several months out.
That doesn’t mean things aren’t happening.
- I’m about 25% of the way through the initial outlining process for The Shadows of Aeroel. That’s just a little farther than I was a month ago at this time, in large part because I’m currently working on Book 3, although I have a pretty good idea of where Shadows will go. I expect to have a full draft done by summer’s end and the final version done by the winter.
- Speaking of Book 3, I’m wrapping up work on that book’s all-important second draft. I know how it starts, I know how it ends, and the second draft is a chance for me to tighten up what goes in between. I’ll hammer out revisions this summer, send it out to beta readers shortly thereafter, and revise it a couple more times before its March 2017 due date.
Also, here’s the roundup of some of the writing I’ve been up to over the last month or two:
- From Hobby to Novel (Novel Rocket): I break down what aspiring authors need to think about when deciding whether to publish.
- Resuming the Hunt (Nintendojo): Six years ago, I played a game that was so good I had to get rid of it. In this piece, I talk about going back.
- The Big Faceless Evil (blog): Some people have asked me about the inspiration behindĀ Edge of Oblivion‘s massive antagonist, Malum. This post deals provides some answers.
Happy June!
